The featured album was one out of the vaults - a 1982 vinyl album called  OBADEEA  by the Shetland band  HOM BRU (Celtic Music)  I've been relearning a few tunes from this album and decided to feature it on the show, although it's probably unprocurable these days.  Mostly Shetland tunes, both old and new, and some more recent songs and tunes as well. The featured album was  A TIME TO SING!  This is a CD reissue of a recording made in 1984 of a Los Angeles concert featuring  HOLLY NEAR, ARLO GUTHRIE, RONNIE GILBERT & PETE SEEGER, with the title HARP. Originally released on the Redwood label, the reissue from APPLESEED (www.appleseedrec.com) is expanded to two CDs with 13 additional songs.  Uplifting performances from four outstanding artists, but slightly unsettling in the contemporary relevance of many of the songs almost two decades after the recording was made.  We are slow to learn the lessons of the past.   The following tracks were scattered through the program:

OH MARY DON'T YOU WEEP;  SOMOS EL BARCO;  OH MOM;  EMMA;  JACOB'S LADDER;  TAKE BACK THE NIGHT;  THE WATER IS WIDE;  CITY OF NEW ORLEANS
