'Come All Ye' is a radio program heard each Sunday from 12 to 2 pm on community radio 2MCE-FM in Bathurst (92.3 Mhz) and Orange (94.7 Mhz), NSW, Australia.    Bruce Cameron has presented 'Come All Ye' each week since 1976.    It is the longest running folk / acoustic / roots program on Australian radio still with its original presenter.

Today's program was turned over to concert performances recorded at the 2000 National Folk Festival by the good people at ArtSound FM 92.7 community radio in Canberra. The three concerts featured Irish musician, MICHAEL QUEALLY, Asturian band, FELPEYU  and red-hot Australian guitarist, BRUCE MATHISKE.  The program was pre-recorded as I spent the weekend many miles away at the Port Fairy Folk Festival.

The featured album was  IMAGES OF WOMEN Vol 1  by ROBIN GREENSTEIN (Windy Records) www.robingreenstein.com  This is an album of traditional folk songs about women, sung and played by a New York performer with a strong, resonant voice, well suited to the chosen material, with very good guitar and banjo accompaniment.  Somewhere along the way during planning this program I seemed to select a high proportion of songs on the theme of peace from a 1977 LP called 'Songs For Peace' - these are troubled times indeed.  The following tracks from Robin Greenstein were scattered through the program:

About half of the program (62 minutes) was given over to  RADIO BOOLIGAL,  a recreation of a 1940s Australian radio show presenting the music, songs and poetry of Joe Cashmere written by ALAN MUSGROVE and performed by Alan and the HARVEST MOON BAND from Melbourne.  Joe Cashmere came from Booligal, NSW, lived from 1872 to 1959, and was one of Australia's great traditional musicians.  RADIO BOOLIGAL was recorded at 2MCE-FM in September 1998 and, unfortunately, there are no details of individual musical content.  All material is * Australian content.
