'Come All Ye' is a folk music radio program broadcast on 2MCE-FM each Sunday from 12 to 2pm, heard across the central west of NSW, Australia, in the cities of Bathurst (92.3 Mhz) and Orange (94.7 Mhz). Bruce Cameron has hosted 'Come All Ye' since 1976, making it the longest running folk / acoustic / roots program on Australian radio still with its original presenter.

The featured album was  BEST OF FRIENDS,  a self-titled live album of a 1985 concert by the outstanding trio of Tom Paxton, Anne Hills and Bob Gibson - BEST OF FRIENDS.  (Appleseed  www.appleseedrec.com) Recorded, produced and edited by Rich Warren, the host of "The Midnight Special", the folk program from WFMT-FM in Chicago syndicated across the US.  This album is the only available recording of this short-lived supergroup and is essential listening.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was  BEAUTIFUL: A TRIBUTE TO GORDON LIGHTFOOT. This compilation album on the Borealis label  www.borealisrecords.com contains fourteen Lightfoot compositions presented in a range of settings, plus one recent tribute written for the great Canadian singer-songwriter.  Many well known songs are successfully given new and interesting interpretations.  Though not quite topping the original Lightfoot versions, this album is a very worthwhile project. The featured album was SONGS THEY USED TO SING  by  ALAN MUSGROVE with Bob McInnes & Friends.  (Private release thalia-@hotkey.net.au ) All of these twenty songs come from the Australian tradition, some are older than others, and most are local variants or parodies of earlier material from the British Isles.  The researched sleeve notes are comprehensive and the arrangements are sympathetic to the songs, although accompaniment occasionally dominates vocals.  This album is an interesting and entertaining album of Australian folk songs.  The following tracks (all * Australian content) were scattered through the program:

The featured album was  DECLAN AFFLEY: AUSTRALIAN FOLK ARCHIVE, a compilation of 'roughly' recorded concert performances from about 1971 to 1973, by a much respected figure on the Australian folk scene who died in 1985.  Valuable archive material, with some interesting variations of familiar songs and tunes. The featured album was  WAY DOWN THE TRACK  by  THE HIGH TIMES STRING BAND  (Whoopy Doo Recordings).  The third album from a Melbourne band established in 1981 with the intention of bringing American traditional tunes into the Australian folk music repertoire.
