The featured album was LE PELEGRIN by TRI YANN
(Marzelle) www.tri-yann.com
This offers a somewhat different slant on the theme of
the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella in
Galicia. Tri Yann is a folk rock band, formed in
the early '70s in eastern Brittany, and this 2001 album
features lyrics sung in Scots Gaelic, Occitan and Breton,
as well as French. It is the contemporary story of
Ian Angus, who leaves his home on the Hebridean island of
Lewis and travels through Scotland, Ireland, "le
Pays des Saxons", specific regions of France and
northern Spain. This particular pilgrimage in
honour of Saint Jacques includes very secular references
to BMWs, Kawasaki 500s, shooting up and buying junk
advertised on TV. Intriguing album. The
following tracks were scattered through the program:

This program included an extended interview with
Australian singer songwriter, PAT DRUMMOND, who recently
performed in town. We thought we would talk for a
half hour or so, but things got out of hand and this
entire program is all Pat and some of his music.
His latest recording is a fascinating double CD project,
THE CHESS SET, presenting alternate moods of rage and
serenity on albums titled THE AGE OF DISSENT and THE
DESCENT OF AGE (Shoestring). Features include
an extensive browser based interactive section, and
encouragement is given to continue the relationship by
logging on to www.patdrummond.net
Pat Drummond presents contemporary Australian songwriting
at its best, with passion and intensity. The new
release is highly recommended. (All tracks played
