(now living in Colorado) banjo player and self-described 'instigator' who set himself the challenge of reinterpreting a small and diverse
selection drawn from the enormous body of material collected by Alan Lomax, the influential folklorist and ethnomusicologist, to coincide with
the centenary of Lomax's birth in 1915. Over a dozen fine musicians appear on the album, leading individual tracks, with Stone's banjo usually
somewhere in the mix. Some of the better known participating musicians are Tim O'Brien, Bruce Molsky, Margaret Glaspy, Moira Smiley and
