several hours.
6 December 2015
The featured album was THE BEST OF MRS BRUCE'S BOYS by FRASER AND IAN BRUCE (Greentrax-Planet). A successful folk
duo in the 1980s, these Scottish brothers have re-recorded some of their early material, and re-released some as well,
on an interesting album which includes several good songs which, sadly, seem to have dropped out of the current general
folk repertoire. Enjoyable stuff. The following tracks were scattered through the program:
KING'S SHILLING; FAREWELL TO THE GOLD; RISE UP JOCK; DOWN WHERE THE DRUNKARDS ROLL; A MAN YOU DON'T MEET EVERY DAY

The featured album was LE PELEGRIN by TRI YANN
www.tri-yann.com Tri Yann is a
folk rock band formed in Brittany in 1970. The album is the fictitious story of Ian Angus, a modern-day pilgrim
("le pelegrin"), who makes a convoluted journey from the Hebridean island of Lewis to Santiago de Compostella in
Galicia. There are songs in Scots Gaelic, Occitan, Breton and French.
Although I featured this album back in September 2004, my colleague, Roger Hargraves, and I were joined in the studio
today by my wife, Kathy, who had prepared a complete translation of the album's French lyrics and sleeve notes. I'm
sure this made the program far more interesting, as well as greatly improving Roger's and my French pronunciation.
The following tracks were scattered through the program:
