The featured album was LIMBO by DANNY SPOONER & MICK FARRELL (Anthology Recording) www.dannyspooner.com Danny Spooner, who passed away earlier this month, was a much loved and respected singer and folklorist in Australia and everywhere else he performed over the years. Thanks to a recent backlog of excellent new Irish material, I featured two albums in this program instead of only one.

TUS NUA by GATEHOUSE (Gael Linn) includes mostly, but not exclusively, material from the Roscommon and North Connaught traditions. Among the band members are John Wynne on flutes and whistles and John McEvoy on fiddle and viola, both of whom are prominent in the arrangements.

The following tracks were scattered through the program:

THE RETURN OF THE SOCK MONSTERS FROM OUTER SPACE by SOCKS IN THE FRYING PAN (www.socksinthefryingpan.com) is a very enjoyable album by a trio from Ennis in Co. Clare. In spite of the preposterous title and band name, this album is well worth a listen.
