The featured album was OUT ON THE OCEAN by POTEEN (Green South Records). Poteen were a popular celtic folk revival band in Melbourne in the 1980s and 1990s. The band was subject to the usual changes of personnel over the years but maintained an identifiable sound throughout due to highly competent musicianship and good choices of material. This is an entertaining album of definite historical interest in an Australian setting. The following tracks ( all *Australian content) were scattered through the program:

The featured album was SCOTTISH FOLK by BATTLEFIELD BAND (Arfolk). This is something of a curiosity, the 1976 debut studio album by Battlefield Band, recorded in Brittany as a trio with Alan Reid, Brian McNeill and Ricky Starrs. It was also released on the Escalibur label as "Volume 1 - Farewell To Nova Scotia". Definitely a pared down sound compared to what the band later became with additional members, but interesting nonetheless. The following tracks were scattered through the program:

There was no program today, due to human error.   Much to my annoyance, the erring human was me!

Our band was performing out of town this weekend so I pre-recorded the program.   However, I pressed one wrong button at the end of the recording process which meant the entire program hid itself in the wrong part of the studio computer without telling me.

Never mind!   I'll explain it all if anyone is listening when I'm back on air next week.

A special program today, with every track coming from a large collection of recordings generously donated to 'Come All Ye' by Phyl Lobl, a fine Australian singer, songwriter, teacher and self-described "Cultural Maintenance Worker". Phyl began her active involvement in the folk revival in Melbourne, then Sydney, in the 1960s and still remains committed to ensuring the teaching of music in schools is adequately and appropriately resourced. Phyl's innovative education materials are explained on her website, which also includes a more expansive biography and discography. My sincere thanks go to Phyl.
