'Come All Ye' is a folk music radio program broadcast on 2MCE-FM each Sunday from 12 to 2pm, heard across the central west of NSW, Australia, in the cities of Bathurst (92.3 Mhz) and Orange (94.7 Mhz), and streamed as well. Bruce Cameron has hosted 'Come All Ye' since 1976, making it the longest running folk / acoustic / roots program on Australian radio still with its original presenter.

The featured album was  CILLA & ARTIE  by  CILLA FISHER & ARTIE TREZISE  (Topic).  This was released in 1979, a couple of years before the Scottish folk duo established a children's theatre show for primary schools and became "The Singing Kettle".  The album includes traditional and trad-style ballads, mostly highlighting impressive strong harmony vocals.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was FOLK MUSIC FROM SOUTH WEST FRANCE by LOUS GOUYATS DE L'ADOU ("The Young People of Adour")  (ARC Music).  This is an album of dance music from a Landes group from Dax.  In performance, the group includes regional acrobatic dance demonstrations by stilters.  An album of polkas, rondeaux, mazurkas and a 'scottish', mostly of local origin.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was  WHALE CHASING MEN  by  HARRY ROBERTSON  (ScreenSound Australia).  This is the 2001 reissue of a 1971 album by a Glasgow-born ship's engineer who spent several seasons working in the whaling industry before and after relocating to Australia.  The songs in no way glorify the killing of whales but rather document in perceptive and descriptive ballad form Robertson's experiences living and working in an extraordinary environment.  The following tracks (all * Australian content) were scattered through the program:

The featured album was  DUETS  by  LINDA RONSTADT   (Rhino).  The album was released in 2014, several years after Linda Ronstadt announced her retirement due to the onset of Parkinson's Disease (since rediagnosed as progressive supranuclear palsy, which is no less severe).  Ronstadt collaborated with many artists in various musical styles over three decades, not only in duos, and this interesting compilation could easily have included twice the number of tracks.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was  THE PATH OF STONES  by  JOHN DOYLE  johndoylemusic.com  (Compass) The third solo release from an Irish born North Carolina resident musician, long respected as an excellent guitarist and accompanist but in recent years gaining a reputation as a very good singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.  All the songs and tunes are Doyle originals, except the lyrics of one song inspired by a W B Yeats poem, and are of consistently high standard.  Assistance is provided by a select group of top shelf musicians and, overall, the album is a winner.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was OLD AUSTRALIAN WAYS by GERRY HALLOM (Fellside), first released on vinyl in 1989.  All the tracks were originally poems by various Australian writers, put to music by Gerry Hallom, who spent some time living in Australia in the 1970s.  This is an interesting collection, with Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson strongly represented, but including some lesser known material.  The following tracks were scattered through the program:

The featured album was LAST NIGHT'S JOY by GERRY O'CONNOR www.gerryoconnor.net  (Lughnasa Music).   A 'solo' album, with assistance provided by O'Connor's son, Donal, as well as several top Irish music players including Seamie O'Dowd, Niall Hanna, Neil Martin, Mairtin O'Connor and Sean Og Graham. The material ranges from traditional Irish, through a set of Cape Breton reels, a Swedish polska and a lively set featuring the "eponymous musical friend", Gerry ("Banjo") O'Connor.
